- CodeRED Services from Johnson County Joint Emergency Communication Center
- CodeRED is a mass notification service service provided by JECC. CodeRED gives JECC the ability to send out mass notifications regarding emergency or general events. These messages can be sent to city specific locations or county wide. This is a free opt-in service available to all Johnson County residents.

- Finance Committee Information
- City Audit Every 4 years, University Heights, by statute, has to complete an outside audit. Kronlage & Olson of Charles City, IA presented their Audit Report at the January 2012 council meeting. In their summary section (p. 30) they found four material weaknesses of the city. In each case the city's response to the weakness was accepted.
- FY 2013 Budget The budget guidelines for fiscal 2013 (beginning July 1, 2012) are set by state statute. City departments are currently in the process of gathering information for submitting requests for the 2013 budget. These will be discussed at the February 14, 2012 City Council meeting. Final approval of the 2013 budget will occur at the March 13, 2012 City Council meeting. The proposed budget will be posted in advance and a public hearing will be held that night. By law the proposed budget must be submitted to the Iowa Department of Management no later than March 15, 2012.
