Updates to University Heights website:

Long Range Transportation Plan

The Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) of Johnson County is in the process of updating the MPO Long Range Transportation Plan to guide decisions about transportation improvements and funding for the next 25 years. The plan summarizes transportation information for the entire Iowa City Metropolitan Area including University Heights, and Johnson County. The Long Range Transportation Plan will be adopted in May 2012.
In accordance with the adopted 30-day public input process, we are informing you that written input received before April 30 will be forwarded to the MPO Policy Board for their consideration of adopting the plan.
Draft chapters of the plan are also available for review on the MPO website at:

• FY 2013 Preliminary Budget #3
• This is the final preliminary budget worksheet for 2012-2013. This incorporates changes made at the February Council Meeting-
  
  
  • +$3200 for Grandview Recycling
  • +$2100 for Meeting Recorder
  • +$1000 for Taping Meetings
  • +$250 for Community Support Projects
  • -$2500 for only one Street Sweeping
  • -$29,000 for Curb Ramping(we will do part in 2013 and part in 2014 budget periods)
  • -$9,000 for Sunset St. Wide sidewalk (accounts for Engineering being done in our current budget period.)
  The Sunset St. wide sidewalk was postponed but it is left it in the budget since it cannot be added in later. If Council decides not to do this project in the 2013 budget period then additional street work could be done.
