- Important Message to MidAmerican Energy customers. (received 6/8/15)
More than 25 customers in the Iowa City area reported receiving a fraudulent call from someone pretending to be a MidAmerican Energy Company representative today. Of the calls reported, the majority were small businesses such as salons, child care centers, dental offices, book stores and property management companies.
The scammers appear to be moving across the state. This week more than 250 scam calls have been reported by MidAmerican Energy customers.
In general, the scammers are trying to get money from customers by threatening service disconnection and demanding immediate payment via credit card or a prepaid debit card (often a Green Dot card).
If customers receive a call like this, they should hang up and call MidAmerican Energy right away at
1-888-427-5632 FREE to verify the call’s origins.
MidAmerican Energy is asking the City to get this word out and to post this on websites within the City.

- Draft Developer's Agreement In additon to passages marked in RED which are changes from version posted on 5/27/15 are the following changes
- Para. 7(d) – the word “ten” in the last line has been deleted and replaced with “five (5)”. That fixes a typo.
- Para 3(r)
- If the City acquires a commercial condo unit in OUP, the green-space area adjacent to the City-owned unit will be a limited common element, which means the City will control its usage, establish rules and hours, etc.
- The agreement has been changed to say that the association (not just the City) will be responsible for maintenance of this limited common element area. So, if it’s grass, the association will pay for mowing, for example.
