Updates to University Heights website:

• The rain barrel and compost bin sale that was scheduled for Saturday, July 14 has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 25 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m). The event will still be held at the East Side Recycling Center (2401 Scott Blvd. SE). The rain barrels will now be $50 each and the compost bins will be $40 each

• MELROSE EAST Phase 3
  Melrose East Phase 3 repairs begin 8/17/12. Panel repair continues near city office, 1004 Melrose. Left turn lane onto Koser CLOSED to westbound Melrose traffic.
• OAKCREST DETOUR
  Horn School Parents: Due to a utility line conflict, Oakcrest Street continues to be closed. Please use alternate routes to Horn.

• SUNSET DETOUR 8/16 to 8/19 The southbound lanes of Sunset Street will be closed between Melrose Avenue and Koser Avenue.  During this time, traffic at the Melrose/Sunset intersection will not be allowed to turn South onto Sunset Street.  Traffic traveling north on Sunset Street will be still have access to Melrose Avenue as they do now, and once to Melrose, they may turn left or right. • MELROSE EAST Phase 2 Melrose East Phase 2 repairs begin 8/15/12. Panel repair continues near city office, 1004 Melrose. Anticipate the left turn lane onto Koser being closed to westbound Melrose traffic.

• MELROSE EAST Phase 1 Panel Repair
• Melrose East Phase 1 repairs begin 8/13/12. Panel repair begins near city office, 1004 Melrose. There will always be two lanes open for east-west traffic, but it will create delays as vehicles slow down traveling through the work zone. During Phase 2 and 3 (several days away yet), left-turns onto Koser will be prohibited.

• Melrose Ave Detour (CLICK ON LINK FOR MAP)
• The westbound lane of Melrose Avenue between Sunset and Emerald Streets will be closed for street panel repair from Wednesday, Aug. 8 through Sunday, Aug. 12.
  
  Those traveling west on Melrose Avenue will be detoured onto Sunset Street and directed to turn right onto Benton Street and right again on Mormon Trek Boulevard before returning to Melrose Avenue.
  
  There will be no detour for those traveling east on Melrose Avenue, as they will be able to continue through the construction zone.
  
  Melrose Avenue is expected to return to normal traffic by Monday, August 13.
