- University Heights Wins Severson Charity Challenge
- For the third year in a row University Heights has won the local
government holiday charity challenge named in honor of former
Metropolitan Planning Organization employee Linda Severson. U-Heights
targeted Ronald McDonald House as the recipient of their donations.
This friendly competition challenges the
urbanized metro area (Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty and Johnson
County) governments to compare donations on a per capita basis of
employees and elected officials. This year 1745 items were collected on
U-Heights behalf. U-Heights counts their six elected officials plus four
full time equivalent employees for an average of 174.5 items per
person.
